The Air Duct Apparatus PolarX - 576 is a realistically scaled ventilation training unit for studying fluid mechanics, airflow, and multi-duct system balancing. This Air Duct Apparatus features a forward-curving variable speed centrifugal fan (0.75kW, up to 890Pa and 0.8m³/s) discharging into 200mm dia. galvanized steel ductwork with at least 6 balanceable air supply locations. Measurement tools include a combined vertical/inclined manometer, pitot static tube, and digital anemometer (range 0~30m/s). Optional LABVIEW-based DAQ software supports automated data measurement.

Construction and Design
The Air Duct Apparatus PolarX - 576 features a rectangular air inlet and filter holder, together with a forward-curving variable speed centrifugal fan and integral control console. The fan discharges directly into a 200mm dia. galvanized steel duct connected to the distribution ductwork. Main components include T-branch, straight length, parallel duct, 45°, 90°, and 180° bends, down bend, air handling unit, active damper, pitot tube, and multiple diffuser types. All ductwork and components are constructed from galvanized steel. All rotating components are covered when the filter and holder are in position. The stand uses 24 gauge iron.
Software
PolarX - 576 (optional). A DAQ software package, specially designed in National Instruments LABVIEW environment, measures and calculates the results of the apparatus. The software is optional. When the software is used, a set of electronic sensors is included. The software can be run on any Windows environment.
Scope of Delivery
Q: What is the maximum fan pressure and flow rate of the Air Duct Apparatus PolarX - 576?
A: Fan supply pressure reaches up to 890Pa and flow rate reaches up to 0.8m³/s, depending on the blockage factor.
Q: How many air supply locations can be balanced on this unit?
A: At least 6 air supply locations can be balanced to provide a variety of airflows.
Q: What measurement tools are included?
A: A portable manometer (combined vertical and inclined), a pitot static tube, and a battery powered rotating vane anemometer with digital readout (range 0~30m/s).
Q: What ductwork components are included?
A: T-branch, straight length, parallel duct, 45°, 90°, and 180° bends, down bend, air handling unit, active damper, pitot tube, and rectangular, round, and adjustable diffusers.
Q: Is the DAQ software required to operate the unit?
A: No. The PolarX - 576 software is optional, and a set of electronic sensors is included when the software is used.
