The Dew Point Hygrometer ThermoFlux - 7089 is a laboratory trainer that measures air humidity using four instruments housed inside a single climatic chamber with a transparent door. It covers psychrometric, hygrometric, and capacitive measurement methods using two mechanical instruments (hair hygrometer with real hair and synthetic fiber) and three electronic instruments (capacitive sensor and wet and dry bulb thermocouples). Chamber humidity is controlled via an ultrasonic atomizer (22 W) for humidification and a Peltier element (58 W cooling capacity, 1600 mm² cooling surface) for dehumidification. This dew point hygrometer enables direct instrument comparison and supports optional PC-based data acquisition using LabVIEW-based DAQ software.

Construction and Design

The Dew Point Hygrometer ThermoFlux - 7089 is constructed around a climatic chamber with a transparent door as its core element. The chamber houses all four humidity measurement instruments, enabling simultaneous readings under identical conditions. An ultrasonic atomizer rated at 22 W with a low-water cut-off provides humidification. A Peltier cooling element with a 58 W cooling capacity and 1600 mm² cooling surface performs dehumidification. A recirculation fan circulates air within the chamber to maintain uniform mixing throughout all measurements.

Two mechanical instruments are included: a hair hygrometer using real hair and a hygrometer using synthetic fiber, both covering 0 to 100% RH. Three electronic instruments are fitted: a capacitive humidity sensor with a 0 to 10 V output, and wet and dry bulb thermocouples with a range of -100 to 400°C. The psychrometer principle in this dew point hygrometer is based on evaporation cooling, comparing ambient and wet bulb temperatures. The capacitive sensor detects changes in the dielectric constant of a layer caused by absorbed water molecules.
