Construction and Design
The FluidoSurge-X 392 is a floor-standing experimental flume with a 1 m experimental section of 50 x 200 mm (W x H) cross section. Side walls are tempered glass for unobstructed observation. Three evenly spaced threaded holes on the channel bottom provide secure model mounting. All water-contact components are fabricated from corrosion-resistant materials, stainless steel and glass reinforced plastic. The flow-optimised inlet element minimises turbulence at the entry to the experimental section. Inclination is smoothly adjustable from -0.5% to +3% and is read via a magnetic inclinometer with a -90° to +90° range. The closed water circuit includes a 100 L sump tank, a pump rated at 0.37 kW with 80 LPM max. flow rate and 15 m head at 2850 rpm, and a rotameter covering 0.8 to 70 LPM with manual flow adjustment.

Q1. What are the dimensions of the experimental section?
1 m length, 50 x 200 mm (W x H) flow cross section with +1 mm tolerance. Side walls are tempered glass.
Q2. What is the inclination adjustment range and how is it measured?
-0.5% to +3%, adjusted smoothly. A magnetic inclinometer with a -90° to 0° to +90° range is used for reading.
Q3. What are the pump and rotameter specifications?
Pump: 0.37 kW, 80 LPM max. flow rate, 15 m max. head, 2850 rpm. Rotameter range: 0.8 to 70 LPM with manual flow adjustment.
Q4. How are models mounted in the experimental section?
Three evenly spaced threaded holes on the channel bottom allow most models to be quickly and securely bolted in place.
Q5. What does the optional FX 392 software provide?
LabVIEW-based DAQ software for Windows. Performs data acquisition, processing, tabulation, graphing, and generates a CSV report with all measured and calculated data.
