Construction and Design
The Solid-Liquid Extraction OperatiX - 10 (IUO-3707) is built around a revolving extractor with 9 cells, a rotor diameter of approximately 200mm, and a speed of approximately 12h⁻¹. A spiral conveyor with a maximum feed rate of approximately 20L/h feeds the extraction material into the extractor cells. Three peristaltic pumps, each with a maximum flow rate of approximately 25L/h and variable speed of 0 to 300min⁻¹, supply solvent to each stage. Three heaters, each consuming 300W, provide PID-controlled temperature regulation per stage. Conductivity sensors are fitted at each stage to monitor the separation procedure. Separate tanks hold the extraction material (more than 5L), extraction residue (approx. 5L), solvent (approx. 20L), and extract (approx. 20L). Valves allow switching between one, two, or three-stage continuous modes.
Software
Software OperatiX - 10 (optional). DAQ software specially designed in National Instrument™, LABVIEW™ environment to measure and calculate the results of the apparatus. The software is optional; a set of electronic sensors is included when the software is used.
Scope of Delivery
Q: What is the Solid-Liquid Extraction OperatiX - 10 used for?
A: It is used to extract a soluble component from a solid mixture using a rotating extractor, in continuous or discontinuous modes.
Q: How many extraction stages does the system support?
A: The system supports one, two, or three-stage continuous modes, switchable using valves.
Q: How is the temperature of the solvent controlled?
A: A PID controller adjusts the solvent temperature individually at each stage using one of the 3 heaters, each rated at 300W.
Q: Is data acquisition software available with this system?
A: Yes, Software OperatiX - 10 is available as an optional add-on, designed in National Instrument™ LABVIEW™ environment, and can run in any Windows™ environment.
Q: What is the measuring range for conductivity and temperature?
A: Conductivity is measured from 0 to 200mS/cm, and temperature from -100°C to 400°C.
