Construction and Design
The FluidoSurge-X 216 is an open-circuit Eiffel-type wind tunnel. The inlet contour, nozzle, and diffuser are metal construction. The measuring section is transparent and closed with a square flow cross section of 300 x 300 mm and a length of 450 mm. A flow straightener is integrated upstream of the measuring section to minimize turbulence. The axial fan with guide vane features a 400 mm blower wheel, variable speed from 0 to 2800 rpm, maximum air flow of 2.5 m³/s, head of 500 Pa, and power consumption of 2.55 kW. An electronic two-component force sensor measures lift and drag in the range of -5 to 5 N per axis with 0.001 N resolution. A 16-tube inclined water manometer with four slope settings (30°, 45°, 60°, 90°) covers 0 to 450 mm WC at 1 mm graduation. Pressure is measured over 0 to 5 mbar at 0.1 Pa resolution. An optional DAQ system enables PC-based capture of pressure, angle, velocity, and force data.
