Accreditation and regulatory context
Nursing education in India is jointly regulated. The Indian Nursing Council prescribes the syllabus, minimum standards of teaching and the physical infrastructure (including laboratory rooms and equipment lists) for GNM, ANM, B.Sc (Nursing), Post Basic B.Sc and M.Sc (Nursing) programmes. The State Nursing Council of the state in which the institution is located issues the operating registration and conducts periodic inspections against those INC norms.
