Scientico manufactures Governor Apparatus for Theory of Machines (TOM) laboratory experiments in engineering colleges. We supply Watt Governor, Porter Governor, Proell Governor, and Universal Governor Apparatus — all ISO 9001:2015 and CE certified — to B.Tech Mechanical Engineering programmes across India.
Types of Governor Apparatus
- Watt Governor Apparatus
- Porter Governor Apparatus (with dead weight)
- Proell Governor Apparatus (with extended arm)
- Universal Governor (covers Watt, Porter, Proell, and Hartnell in one unit)
Specifications
- Drive: Single-phase 230V electric motor with variable speed drive
- Speed range: 0 to 1000 RPM (variable)
- Speed measurement: Digital tachometer
- Sleeve position: Graduated scale with pointer
- Arms and links: Machined from MS/SS with precision pin joints
- Base: Cast iron or MS, stable and vibration-free
Experiment Conducted
Determination of the relationship between sleeve position and spindle speed for different governor types. Students plot the characteristic curve of the governor and determine the coefficient of insensitiveness, range of speed, and sensitivity. This experiment is prescribed by Anna University, VTU, AKTU, GTU, and Mumbai University TOM syllabi.
