Ion Exchange Pilot Plant – HydraNexis HNX 08

The Ion Exchange Pilot Plant (HydraNexis HNX 08) by SCIENTICO is a laboratory-scale system for demonstrating water softening and desalination using cation and anion exchangers. With continuous conductivity monitoring and full regeneration capability, it is ideal for education, research, and training in water treatment technology.

The Ion Exchange Pilot Plant (HydraNexis HNX 08) is a compact laboratory-scale system designed to demonstrate water softening and desalination using ion exchange technology. Developed by SCIENTICO under the HydraNexis series, this unit is ideally suited for teaching laboratories, research institutions, and professional training programs in water and environmental engineering.

Product Overview

The HydraNexis HNX 08 enables practical understanding of ion exchange processes using cation and anion exchangers, which can be operated individually or in combination. Raw tap water is pumped from a storage tank to the top of the cation exchanger, where hardness-causing ions are removed during the softening process. The softened water is collected in a tank and can then be further processed through the anion exchanger to achieve desalination.

For regeneration studies, the same pump is used to inject acid or caustic solutions into the ion exchangers. Spent regeneration chemicals are safely collected in a dedicated collecting tank. The system allows continuous monitoring of flow rate and conductivity, enabling real-time assessment of exchanger performance and breakthrough behavior.

All critical points are accessible for sample collection, making the unit highly suitable for experimental verification of ion exchange theory, capacity calculations, and regeneration efficiency.
