Veterinary and animal carcass incinerators, manufactured in India

If you are specifying an incinerator for animal carcasses, the question that matters is not which brand to buy. It is what the machine has to do, who has to approve it at your site, and what has to be on paper before a purchase order can be raised. This page answers those three, in that order, and it is written to be useful to you even if you end up buying from one of my competitors.

Two points up front, because both are expensive to get wrong. An animal carcass load does not behave like general waste, and a chamber sized only by volume will disappoint you. And installation and operation are regulated activities: consent comes from your State Pollution Control Board, and no manufacturer can obtain it for you or declare on your behalf that a machine is compliant at your site.

Why a carcass load is a different combustion problem

This is not a marketing distinction. It changes chamber geometry, burner sizing and cycle control in ways you can check on a drawing.

The most common sizing error I see is buying for the worst day of the year. A facility weighs its single heaviest possible load, specifies a chamber that will hold it, and then runs that chamber part-loaded on ordinary days for the next decade. Fuel is paid on every cycle. Before you write a size into a tender, look at the actual distribution of your loads, not the maximum, and discuss with the supplier whether one machine with real turndown or a different arrangement suits your pattern better.

The data sheet to fill in before you ask anyone for a quote

Fill this in with your own figures. I have deliberately given no values. Any supplier who fills these fields for you before seeing your site is selling you a stock machine with your name printed on the cover.

What to specify, and what each item actually does

You will have to defend this specification to a purchase committee that does not know combustion. Here is what each item is for, in plain terms.

Primary chamber Holds the load and burns it. Also ask what makes a lining fail fastest in their experience. A supplier who cannot answer has not seen many machines come back

The regulatory position, stated plainly

Installing and operating an incinerator in India is a regulated activity. Consent to establish and consent to operate are issued by the State Pollution Control Board for the state where the unit will stand. The Central Pollution Control Board issues guidelines. Where your waste stream includes biomedical waste, handling is governed by the Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules. All of these exist and apply to your project.

What I will not do is print a number on this page. Emission limits, stack arrangement, temperature and retention conditions, siting distances, monitoring and record keeping are set by the applicable rules and by the conditions written into your consent, and you must confirm every one of them with your State Pollution Control Board for your site and your waste stream before the specification is finalised. A parameter copied from a supplier website into a tender document is exactly how a project ends up with equipment built to the wrong requirement, discovered after commissioning.

Equipment is built to suit the parameters that you and the consenting authority specify. That is the honest description of the relationship. No manufacturer can declare compliance on your behalf, and a supplier who says their machine is approved without reference to your consent conditions is claiming something they cannot support.

The practical order of operations: approach your board first, get the applicable conditions in writing, write the specification around those conditions, then invite offers. Consent timelines are under the board’s control and not the supplier’s, so build that time into the project schedule rather than into the delivery clause.

For a destination outside India, confirm the environmental requirements and the permitting route of the destination country before ordering. We build to the parameters stated in the order and supply the shipping documentation set described in the export documentation guide, but approval in the destination country rests with the buyer or importer there.

A bid file for an institutional purchase normally needs the filled technical specification, company registration and tax documents, quality certificate copies, past performance documents where the tender asks for them, bid security in the form the tender states, and a line-by-line compliance statement. Where a distributor bids on behalf of a manufacturer, the manufacturer authorisation form is the document that decides whether the bid survives technical evaluation, and it is refused far more often for wrong tender references than for anything substantive. One clause gets left out of almost every incinerator tender I have seen, and it is then argued about after delivery: a responsibility matrix stating who obtains consent, who does the civil foundation, who erects the stack, who arranges any third-party emission testing, and who pays for each. Write it into the tender document. It costs you a paragraph and saves a dispute.

Where a distributor fits, and what to check on the manufacturer

For institutional buyers outside our direct reach, a local distributor handles pre-bid coordination, site survey, installation supervision and spares. That arrangement works when the distributor is genuinely equipped for it, which is what the distributor arrangement and spares and after-sales pages set out. Ask any bidder where the nearest engineer is and how burner spares are held, because a burner that waits three weeks for a part is a facility with carcasses and nowhere to put them.

To be clear about one thing that buyers do ask: Scientico supplies factory calibration certificates for instrumentation. We are not ISO/IEC 17025 or NABL accredited and we do not represent otherwise. Where your consent conditions require accredited calibration or independent emission testing, arrange that through an accredited laboratory, and plan it into the schedule the way the calibration and maintenance schedule guide suggests. Pricing is quotation based against your data sheet, because a carcass incinerator quoted without your load figures is a guess.

Installation at your site, the civil and electrical work around it, consent to establish and consent to operate, and any emission testing your board requires are yours. That is not us stepping back from responsibility. It is the only arrangement the regulation permits, and a supplier who tells you otherwise is one you should read more carefully.
