Refrigeration System (Refrigeration & Freezing Chamber) | PolarX – 524

The Refrigeration System (Refrigeration & Freezing Chamber) PolarX – 524 is a trainer that arranges the components of a refrigeration circuit with refrigeration and freezing chambers clearly for structured study. It features a compressor, condenser, 2 evaporators, a thermostatic expansion valve, and an evaporation pressure controller, with valves enabling individual or parallel chamber operation. A heat exchanger supercools the refrigerant to increase efficiency, while an electric defrost heater defrosts the freezing chamber. This refrigeration system (refrigeration & freezing chamber) uses R134a, CFC-free refrigerant, and supports optional DAQ data transmission with log p-h diagram visualization.

Identifying faults in refrigeration systems requires comprehensive knowledge of the design and purpose of individual components. The Refrigeration System (Refrigeration & Freezing Chamber) PolarX – 524 trainer helps build this knowledge. Components of a refrigeration circuit with refrigeration and freezing chambers are arranged clearly in the trainer for structured study.

Product Overview

Valves enable individual or parallel operation of the evaporators in the two chambers. The circuit is equipped with a pressure switch for the delivery and intake side of the compressor. The refrigeration chamber features an evaporation pressure controller, and the effect of this controller on the overall process can be examined.

An inner heat exchanger at the inlet of the two evaporators supercools the refrigerant to increase process efficiency. At the same time, the intake gas is superheated. An electric defrost heater is available to defrost the freezing chamber.

A process schematic on the trainer offers a quick overview, with signal lamps indicating the operating state of selected components. Relevant measured values are captured by sensors and read on digital displays. Optionally, the measured values can also be transmitted directly to a PC via DAQ; the data acquisition software is optional. The most important pressures are additionally indicated with manometers directly at the trainer. This Refrigeration System (Refrigeration & Freezing Chamber) also enables the cyclic process to be represented in the log p-h diagram through its software.
