Indoor Solar Energy Training System | RVX 001

The RVX 001 Indoor Solar Energy Training System is a modular experimental platform for studying solar power generation, charge control, and inverter operation indoors. It demonstrates power transformation from Solar PV modules to battery and from battery to loads. The system includes an artificial light source with intensity control, moveable solar panel frame, PWM charge controller, off-grid inverter, power meter, and LabVIEW™-based DAQ software with electronic sensors. Supports experiments covering illuminance, temperature, shading effects, module parameter testing, and efficiency calculation. Optional grid-tied inverter configuration available.

The RVX 001 Indoor Solar Energy Training System is an experimental platform designed to demonstrate solar energy utilization for power generation. It covers the complete power transformation chain — from Solar PV modules to Battery, and from Battery to Loads. The system supports parameter testing, efficiency calculation, and inverter function study in a controlled indoor environment.

Product Overview

The RVX 001 demonstrates the behavior of solar modules under varying conditions including illuminance, temperature, and shading. It includes a moveable solar module frame, an artificial light source with intensity control, a temperature sensor, PWM charge controller, power inverter, and power meter — all integrated as individual modules on a common frame. The system supports both standalone (off-grid) and optional grid-tied configurations. A DAQ software interface built on National Instruments™ LabVIEW™ is included for measurement and result calculation.

Construction and Design

The system is built around a common frame housing all individual plug-in modules. The solar panel module is mounted on a moveable frame to allow angle adjustment relative to the light source. An artificial light source with a dedicated intensity control module replaces natural sunlight for indoor operation. A temperature sensor enables thermal effect studies on the solar module. The PWM charge controller, off-grid inverter, and measuring module are integrated as separate units. All modules are interconnected via a dedicated set of cables.
